Happy September and Happy Labor Day to you! It’s time to savor the fruits of summer while we still can! This is the last week for Robson’s Farm peaches, but mountains of apples are on their way to the market. Look for Gala, Gianna and Macs. This is also the last week for Asian Pears at Black Sheep Farm, while those amazing Concord grapes will be with us until the end of September. You can find more apples at Black Sheep Farm, Durr’s Blue Box Produce and Cranberry Hall Farm, while Folks Farm takes this week off. Be sure to stock up on everything you need to relax on this long holiday weekend.
Cranberry Hall Farm is setting you up for grilling this weekend, and will have 3lbs of their farm fresh ground beef for $12. Their beef patties will be $8 per pack for four 1/3 lb burgers. Pick up sirloin, beef cubes and chuck steaks too. Of course they’ll be stocked with sweet corn, watermelon, cantaloupes, cucumbers, green beans, potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant and few surprises.
This is the time of year when peppers really start to show off. Stop by 1895 Organic Farm for these organic peppers. Then stroll through the market and enjoy all the varieties, with all their amazing colors at all the farms.
It’s always hard to say goodbye. Take one last look at Robson’s peaches as summer slowly makes way for fall. Be sure to pick up the last of the peaches to jam, bake, can, salsa, make into relish or smoothies or ice cream…….. or just dive in to eat them local and fresh while you still can.

It’s baaaaack ~ with all the best of the best seasonal flavors. Cheese Etc. & Gourmet Gifts knows you’ve been missing the Fig N Zola, so it’s back this Saturday. This is a Gorgonzola cheese blended with figs, fig jam and a balsamic reduction. Come early, it will go fast! And speaking of seasonal flavors, the last of their peach and blueberry cheese spreads and ricotta mousse jars have been made. When they are gone, they are gone until next year 🙁
When life gives you lemons 🙂 They are an excellent source of Vitamin C, and Honey (from Mill Creek Apiary) is a great source of antioxidants. Cindy from Our Souls Shine, suggests drinking lemonade year-round for optimal wellness. Warm it up and add a splash of apple cider vinegar for an even bigger immune boost!
Cherry Grove Farm has whipped up some rhubarb crumb cake, garlicky potato salad and apple hand pies for this holiday weekend. They have also restocked with some awesome prime beef cuts, including porterhouse and bone-in ribeye steaks. Their award winning farmstead cheeses will greet you as you enter the barn.
Can we still hang on to summer for a while AND be excited that Fall boxes have arrived at MECHA Chocolate? Yes, we can. They are experimenting in their new chocolate lab this week and will have 2 brand new products. You’ll have to stop by and see what they are!
