Teaching Gardens
The growth of residential communities within Burlington County has led to an increased need for home horticulture and home gardening information.
To foster the educational goals and outreach mission of both Burlington County and Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Demonstration Plots were established at the Agricultural Center.
The demonstration plots provide examples of plant production techniques and practices recommended by Cooperative Extension and the Master Gardener Program.
The goal of the demonstration plots is to promote awareness of the concepts of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and integrated pest management.
The demonstration plots are a work in progress. When completed the plots will showcase any or all of the following: vegetables, herbs, perennials, ornamental plants, native plants, turf plantings and a display of agricultural crops produced in Burlington County.
