  • 1 1/2-2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tsp butterfly pea flower powder dissolved in 1 1/2 teaspoon water

  • In a stand mixer, add 1 1/2 cups of bread flour and all other ingredients except for butter. Mix on low-medium speed with the hook attachment until the dough comes together, about 10 mins. If your dough is not coming together add the last 1/2 cup of your flour.
  • Add butter, a few pieces at a time. Scrape down the bowl. Continue kneading on medium speed for 10 mins until the dough is smooth.
  • Remove half of the dough from the mixer, set aside. Add butterfly pea flower powder paste into the bowl and continue kneading until it combined. Cover both doughs separately in lightly oiled bowls and let them proof for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Transfer to a clean surface. Roll out the white dough to form a thin rectangle. Roll out the blue dough to the same shape. Place butterfly pea flower dough on top of the white dough and begin rolling up the dough along the wide/long side of the rectangle, Place the roll in a bread pan and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. Allow bread to cool, slice and enjoy.
