Lebanese Kafta

Ingredients
  

Kafta

  • 8 oz ground beef
  • 8 oz ground lamb
  • 1 yellow onion
  • ½ c flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp Lebanese Seven Spice
  • Kosher salt

Seven Spice Blend

  • 1 Tbsp allspice ground
  • 1 Tbsp coriander ground
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon ground
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper ground
  • 1 ½ tsp nutmeg ground
  • 1 ½ tsp cumin ground
  • 1 ½ tsp cloves ground

Instructions
 

Kafta

  • Finely chop onion and parsley. Add to mixing bowl.
  • Add meats and spices to chopped parsley/onion mix.
  • Knead all ingredients together until well-incorporated.
  • Shape into patties, or form around a grilling skewer.
  • Grill or sear until charred on the outside and cooked through.

Seven Spice Blend

  • Stir spices together and store in airtight container.

Notes

Serve on pita bread with a creamy greek yogurt or hummus.
