Quick Pickled Onions

A tangy compliment to many meals.

  • 1 Red onion, sliced
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Vinegar or citrus juice
  • 1 tbsp Salt, more to taste
  • 1 tbsp Sugar, more to taste
  • 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes


  • Pack onion into nonreactive container (glass, stainless steel, plastic). Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Taste and adjust to your liking.
  • Let sit at least 30 minutes before eating.


Pickled red onions are a wonderful addition to salads, sandwiches and charcuterie boards.
