Davia's Spelt Tart Crust

A wonderfully nutty crust for pastry

Ingredients
  

  • 125 g Unsalted Butter cold
  • 200 g Spelt or All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add Butter: Cut in cold butter until mixture is crumbly.
  • Add Egg: Mix in the egg until a dough forms. Do not overwork.
  • Chill Dough: Wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll & Bake: Roll out on floured surface and press into tart pan. Blind bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 min with pie weights if pre-baking.
